I'M FREE!: No kidding. Judge Dismissed My Case

By David Moerschel, 8 August, 2026
Free Eagle

I am at peak gratitude right now for being set free from an insane nightmare. My trial Judge, Amit Mehta, signed the final dismissal order on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. That put an end to 5 and a half years of persecution and political imprisonment.

Unqualified Gratitude

My first thanks goes to President Trump for making good on his promise to free us from the bondage of a weaponized system.

I would also like to thank Jeanine Pirro, United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, for taking the personal reputation risk to spearhead the dismissal of our case. Seriously, thank you Jeanine Pirro!

I am grateful to Judge Amit Mehta for signing the order of the final dismissal. I always felt that, even at trial, he made some tough calls that favored me. He also gave me the lowest sentence of any Oath Keeper on the Rhodes indictment.

I'm grateful to the Appeals Court for their "no drama" dismissal of my convictions. They just delivered justice for us.

Finally, the unsung heroes are the defense attorneys. My trial attorney, Scott Weinberg, and the other defense attorneys, laid the groundwork for a successful appeal by putting on record all the injustices. Then the appeal attorneys took the baton and successfully won our case at the appeal level. I'd especially like to thank my appeal attorney Chad Pennington. His crucial strategic input, combined with the other brilliant attorneys, eventually handed us this victory.

A Win for All Patriots

Let me be clear who won this week: All patriots. The 7 other Oath Keepers and I had our names on the dismissal order. But we all won the case. We stood together. We prayed together. We wept together. And finally, we crossed the finish line victorious together.

This is what freedom feels like? I'd almost forgotten.

Freedom is not cheap. Ask a veteran. Ask a Founding Father. Ask a January 6 defendant.

The nightmare is over. The MISSION to expose injustice and corruption isn't.
