“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” (Psalm 34:19) Our Patriot friend has wanted you to know about this, but couldn’t communicate it. So please read on.
Shortly after Jan 6, there were several civil suits that were filed in addition to the criminal prosecution. In an unprecedented move, the city of D.C. filed a civil suit against about 40 people. Never before had a government agency filed a civil suit. That is why they have criminal prosecution power. They don’t need to file a civil suit. But they did anyway. Our Patriot friend was named in that civil suit. It was a devastating blow.

A New Way to Persecute Their Opponents
The Attorney General of D.C. said this “civil lawsuit is the first by a government entity against the January 6 insurrectionists.” Normally, civil suits are brought by individuals against an individual or individuals against the government. But the government brings criminal action against individuals, not civil suits. So this is the first time a government entity has brought a civil suit. You must understand that they have devised a new way to persecute opponents.
Advancing the Narrative Using the Narrative (not facts)
They are accusing these 40 people of conspiring to commit assault, battery, and the intentional infliction of emotional distress and other things. Only 2 people out of the 40 were even accused of any assault. (Hint: It was certainly not our Patriot friend.) It is absolutely preposterous. There are simply not the facts to support their accusations.
Patriot Friend Weirdly United With Donald Trump
The other major Jan 6 civil suit is: “Smith Vs. Donald Trump and other Jan 6'ers.” (Our Patriot friend is not named in that one, thankfully. Some Jan 6’ers were named in both.) These two civil suits (the D.C. one and the Smith one) have been effectively joined as one. So now, our Patriot friend is again fighting for his (financial) life alongside President Trump. The city of D.C. is asking for the maximum amount for financial damages. This could turn out badly.
Injustice Continues!
Just recently, the city of D.C. (and the Smith civil suit people too) filed a motion to try to get the Judge to find them all guilty without trial. Their reasoning is that they were found guilty in criminal court, so they should not be allowed to defend themselves in civil court. The lawyers are still fighting that battle.
Fighting Alone
Our Patriot friend cannot afford to hire a lawyer to help him in the civil suit. He has tried to find someone to help him pro-bono, but no one has stepped up. He has asked all the major non-profit legal aid societies (close to 10 of them). None of them would touch it. If you know a lawyer that wants to take on a pro-bono case, please pass it along.
How to Pray
Please pray for our Patriot friend. Pray that D.C.’s attempt to find them all guilty without trial would be thwarted. Pray that this civil suit would be dropped. Pray that he will go free today!
