Accountants with Tactical Gear and Guns
Do you think the IRS under Trump is suddenly patriotic? THINK AGAIN! We filed our taxes on Feb. 11, 2025. Not even 2 weeks later, on Feb 27, 2025, we received a letter stating that our refund was "on hold" for verification purposes. The IRS wanted to verify our income, withholding, tax credits, and business income. David panicked.
Are We Going to be Raided?

Was this return from 2023, under the Biden administration?
Of course, it was for Tax Year 2024, under Trump. Yes, there are Biden-era hold outs in the IRS.
We really need that tax refund to help us pay bills. The tax accountant said,
I don't understand why the IRS would delay your refund. Your calculations are correct.

Lengthening the Delay
The letter, dated 2/27/2025, read that the refund could be delayed 60 days.
David called the IRS on 3/11/2025. The agent said that our refund was now on a 120 day review.
David called the IRS again on 6/3/2025. The agent said that it was now a 180 day review - 6 months! David asked the agent if there was any activity on the account - if it looked like there was any work being done. She said,
There is nothing posted on the account, except the original letter they sent on 2/27/2025.
They have done nothing to verify our information. They are only delaying.
We have never had any issues with our refund in the past.
It is so easy to conclude that the delay in giving us our refund is not for verification purposes, but entirely for the sake of delay. It is so easy to believe they want to continue to "punish" us for daring to attend an election integrity rally.
If they are doing this to us, they can come for anyone.
