David went on Last Call Radio today with BJ Edwards. He was joined by the J6 advocate MAGA Mouse and fellow J6 prisoner Ryan Zink. I hope you will visit BJ's website and click your agreement for his Family centered ministry.
David discusses the unintended consequences of not being pardoned, that is, of having his sentence only commuted. He is quick to state that he believes Trump intends to pardon them all. But there are consequences David and the other 11 people that were not pardoned face. Namely:
- They are viewed with suspicion. The fact that Trump did not pardon David and the others makes it appear that they, in fact, did something wrong.
- Lends credence to the insurrection narrative. By not pardoning the 14 accused of sedition makes it seem like maybe there really was an insurrection orchestrated by the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. That couldn't be further from the truth!
- Trump pardoned those that betrayed him but did not pardon the faithful. With respect to the Oath Keepers, they were threatened with life imprisonment, if they went to trial. If they took a plea deal and blamed Trump, they could escape life imprisonment. Some people took a plea deal and betrayed Trump. Those that took plea deals were pardoned. The betrayers were rewarded. But those that went to trial and risked life-imprisonment rather than betray Trump were not pardoned. Their faithfulness has the appearance of being punished.
Therefore, David makes the argument for immediate pardon for the remaining 12 of 14 people that were not pardoned.
